As an expression of your love and commitment to your partner, you want to get married, and you want the world to know it. That’s amazing!
Now, don’t get me wrong! I LOVE a wedding just as much as the next person. But marriage is so much more than a magical day of celebrating your love for each other with family and friends.
This is intended to be a lifetime commitment, and challenges and problems are bound to arise in the future—that’s just life! (Trust me! I’ve been there.)
Perhaps there are a couple of issues you want to deal with before tying the knot that you have never really dealt with in a deep way. Even though you love your mate, you may have a nagging concern or two you want to get out in the open and talk through.
The last thing you want on your big day is to feel uncertain, nervous, or second-guess your decision. When you make those promises to your partner, you want it to feel like a “Hell yes I do!” Not “I do but…?” We can help you get there.
Pre-marriage coaching in New York City and nationwide is here to support you with an exclusive, 8-week group coaching program. The Marriage Prep Academy is designed to equip you with the essential tools and clarity for a successful, respectful, loving, long-term partnership.
Kara Francis is a former divorce attorney and Certified Professional Coach with years of experience specializing in life transitions, and a divorce survivor herself. Kara offers a pre-marriage coaching program to help you prepare for the next stage in your relationship and life.
This pre-marriage coaching program goes beyond the excitement of wedding planning. It focuses on building a strong foundation for your future together and addressing crucial aspects of married life that often go overlooked in the whirlwind of engagement.
✔ 8 weekly, 60-minute group coaching calls, with the option to add on private sessions at a discounted rate.
✔ Comprehensive workbook, tools, and guidance to help you get clear on how you feel about typical issues that married couples contend with (especially the disruptive ones that can leave you feeling stressed or overwhelmed) and prepare to effectively discuss these issues with your partner before you get married.
✔ Unlimited chat support and accountability (individual and group) between coaching sessions—this extra support is instrumental to navigating challenges in real time, staying on track, and having a place to celebrate wins and insights.
✔ Exclusive access to guest speakers who specialize in areas like finances, intimacy, parenting, and more.
✔ Free self-assessment to identify your current stress response and areas for growth.
Note: This program is not “couples therapy” or “couples coaching.” Rather, this program is designed to help engaged individuals get clear on their desires, expectations, and needs for marriage and prepare them to have these important conversations with their partners before getting married.
Communication Mastery: Hone your communication skills to foster understanding, empathy, healthy conflict resolution, and connection in your relationship.
Financial Harmony: Develop strategies for managing finances as a team, setting shared goals, and navigating financial decisions together.
Intimacy: Explore and communicate your expectations and desires regarding intimacy (in all forms), ensuring both partners feel satisfied and respected.
Family Planning: Explore your visions for family life, discuss expectations about children, and align your goals for the future. If you do not want children, gain clarity and confidence about this decision and how to effectively communicate about it with your partner.
Personal Identity and Growth: Maintain individual identities while growing together, supporting each other’s personal goals and aspirations.
Household Dynamics: Create a fair and balanced approach to household responsibilities, ensuring a harmonious home life. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and all perspectives of what is “fair and balanced” are welcome and respected.
The Legalities of Marriage: Understand the basic legal ramifications of getting married and how to effectively discuss this with your partner, including how Prenuptial Agreements work and whether you want one.
Note: This program does not offer or constitute legal advice, and you will not be pressured or required to enter into a Prenuptial Agreement. Rather, we touch on high-level concepts and debunk common misconceptions about marriage and divorce, so you can decide if you want to take any legal steps before you get married.
